Warm Up 11/11 and 11/12

Self Reflection: What is one thing that you think everyone needs to know about you? Maybe it is a part of your personality or something that you have to offer the world and they have not seen it yet. Another day...another blog

An "s" day request...free blog day. I have been asked to allow you to free blog on S days so that is what I am going to do! Today you are allowed to blog about whatever is on your mind. Anything that is appropriate to discuss that your teacher can read, that is. Enjoy!!

I am going to blog about our new computers. Look how beautiful they are! I want them so badly and they are taking soooo long. It is very frustrating becasue I have so much that I want to teach you but I can't without the computers. I know you are getting bored with all the article writing and blogging and you want to move on. Rest assured, I feel the same way. The order is at the superintendents office then it goes on to the board then to the city. Cross your fingers for a December arrival or we might have to start learning how to turn a computer on and off (meaning I am running out of new things to teach you!!!)

Halloween

When I was younger I used to love to trick or treat. (I hate it now because I think people in masks are scary and I am deathly afraid of clowns). My father used to make our costumes every year. One year, my sister, Elaine, and I were scarecrows ( I think MOnica was still just a baby). He made our outfits out of straw and potato sacks and used burnt cork to color our noses. They were the cutest costumes. We went to my neighbors for a party first where we bobbed for apples and had a donut on the string contest (that was hard as i was too short for the string). Then we headed out to get our candy. Mrs. Reichart used to give us a bag of pennies. Really? Thanks for the ten cents! We used to race back to the house and dump all of our candy on the floor, make trades, and eat three pieces. My mom would then take all of our candy and let us eat a few pieces a day. Mysteriously the pounds of candy would only last a few days ( I think she used to bring the extras to work and tell us that we already finished it all!!)

In honor of Halloween, I would like you to blog about your favorite Halloween memory. It can be a favorite costume, or a favorite place you went, or even something nice you did that day (or something scary).

I thought it may be about time that we blog again! Right now, you are writing a news article. I want you to blog about your feelings about this. Do you like writing news articles? Is it difficult? What has been your biggest challenge? What have you liked the most? Do you think you are a good news writer? This blog is basically your personal feeling about acting like a journalist!

"Bucket List"

Watching TV the other day, I ran across the movie "Bucket List". This movie is about two men at the end of their lives who make a list of things that they want to do in their lives before the end comes. It got me thinking about what I would put on my bucket list.

Now, since no one really wants to talk about death I was thinking, if I had to make a bucket list of things that I would like to do before I turn 40..what would be on that list.

1) Go sky diving

I would want to do this because I have a fear of heights and I think that jumping out of a plane would help me conquer that fear.

2) Buy a house with a back yard

I would love to own my own house with a yard for Radley to play in. To me, this would mean that I was successful in life.

3) Own a pair of Minolo Blahniks

Okay so I would never actually pay $600 for shoes but I would love to see what it would feel like to actually own a pair of these beautiful shoes.

There are others, but I would rather hear what you have to say. So...your warm up today is to write a list blog of things that you would like to accomplish before you turn 40. Make sure that you follow the rules of list blogging (and add a picture!!)

Tried to find a good blog for you to read about, but I just couldn't! Everything for today looked very boring. So, instead, I am going to have you blog. Just like on Monday, I am going to ask you a question and you need to log in to your blogger page to respond...don't forget to add either a picture or a link to your answer!

On September 29, I will be celebrating another birthday. So....I was thinking...let's write about birthdays. You have two options for your blog. You can either answer question 1 or 2

1. What is your favorite birthday memory? Make sure you give lots of details and tell why it was so good.

2. If you could ask for any gift for your birthday, what would you ask for? Tell exactly why you would ask for that gift. (PS make sure you write more then two sentences! you can even add info on why this present would complete your life or how it would change or help you)

10. Pretend you don't hear them when they call your name

I find that this works really well espessially when the studnets are really confused. If you ignore them and make them really frustrated..they get annoyed.

9. Call them the wrong name...all the time.

If you realy want to make a student mad, you should call him or her the wrong name. This works the best if you call them a name of a person they can't stand.

8.Yell right in their face.

When you do this...you should also have VERY bad breath!

A simple question

So I was talking with my friend the other night and we were having a little debate. She said she wanted to marry a very rich man and I said I would rather have a really good job and support myself. Of course she pointed out that most people who have rally good jobs are also really smart while you just have to find the right person to make you rich. We got in to a debate about choices. Which choice would you make...would you rather be very rich or very smart? Respond to this choice on your blogspot page. Be sure to add a picture!!
